hooray, ultimate!
I got to play some indoor ultimate yesterday, and the results were entirely awesome. of course, I hadn't packed appropriate clothing, so I wound up wearing a white-on-white-plus-converse ensemble that made me look like a pre-schooler who'd insisted on dressing herself. but sartorial failure aside, I finally 1) got my hair into a ponytail! and 2) had an experience I'd been waiting for for four years--the one where you haven't touched a disc in days/weeks/months, don't warm up, and the first forehand you throw in-game is still solid gold.
I think that game (term used loosely here) was also the wakeup call I needed. excuses be damned, I have to eat better and exercise. I'd forgotten how awesome it feels to sprint down the field, out-juke a large man, really stay on somebody on d, and be sore the next day. I'd also forgotten how gross it feels to know exactly what crappy food is sitting in your stomach as you're gasping for breath and know it shouldn't be there.
in other news, I quite enjoyed my job interview (though I may have bungled a bit of it :[ ), and I continue to pray to everything I can think of that this job takes me--it's so awesome. keep your fingers crossed for me!

greetings from madison!
hello!
I'm in madison! in a couple days I'll be interviewing for a sweet job and from then on I'll be praying to everything from the fsm on down. the tiny children are adorable for the most part and the tiny one even listens to me! I'm also super excited for visiting with awesome people, including lb, caesar (it will happen I swear), tykie and anyone else I can rope into it. :D
you'd think madison would lose its novelty/I'd stop worshiping it now that I'm visiting at one of the more disgusting times of year, weather-wise (cloudy/rainy/cold/bleak), but no. the only thing I'm at all disillusioned with is the prospect of living near someone who still sees me as four years old--that is wearing on me after a whole 24 hours here. but it didn't bug me last summer when we were removed by only a few miles, so I will remain optimistic.
at any rate, wish me luck! I'mma get off this computer now since I may or may not be waking up a tiny child and/or making her talk in her sleep, and I'd rather not find out for certain....

speaking of dreams...
"I hate dreaming. Because when you sleep, you wanna sleep. Dreaming is work, you know--there I am in a comfortable bed, and the next thing you know I have to build a go-kart with my ex-landlord." - Mitch Hedberg
this is how I feel about sleep at the moment. every morning I wake up dead tired from exhausting dreams in which I'm in the worst scenarios I could possibly come up with. and the rest of each day, of late, I fight off a bunch of physical symptoms of further mental unrest. I've got headaches every day (I don't get headaches. ever.), and heartburn, and tinnitus, and I'm freezing and restless and have random aches and pains. I'm hitting a point where I'll do anything to just have a job and be not-here and preferably exercise, so my mental health can recover.
I find it absolutely fascinating what your body and your subconscious will do to hash things out for you when your conscious brain can't. that said, I'm cool with the physical stuff, they make pills and warm sweaters for most of it. .....but does anyone know how to avoid dreaming?

oops
...yeah, I'm a bad blogger. or something.
anyway, here's the silhouette of my hair for those who were curious--yes, it's grown. a lot.

it does this every damn day.
so as not to clog this thing up, here are my cute lil' pumpkins ♥ (click to enlarge):

in other news, the job hunt continues, and I may be doing some more career barbie shopping tomorrow (yay, looking professional!). in the meantime I'm realizing I've already picked out a theme for my eventual apartment (or my half of it, since the goal is to live with caesar :D). make me stop looking at decorations HALP.

a belated happy halloween!
halloween is my favorite holiday of the year, so I was determined to soak up every minute of it, even if it meant sitting at home with my parents and flinging candy at bratty children.
that said, I meant to update this thing yesterday and today is winding down, so I will provide a real update for you all (both? singular?) tomorrow, including pictures of my jack-o-lantern and, hopefully, amusing illustrations.
also, I'm not sure if my hair will be doing the same thing tomorrow, but if it is there will also be a picture of it to explain why I should've cobbled together a peggy olson costume yesterday. *facepalm*
